Minister of Water and Sanitation Abida Mia has urged schools to strictly follow guidelines in order to prevent the spread of cholera in the country.

The statement was made during the presentation of advanced water tokens, costing 14.4 million Kwacha, by the Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) to seven schools in Lilongwe city.

The tokens aim to improve access to clean water as cholera cases rise in the country.

The LWB Board chairperson, Inkosi Ya Makosi M’mbelwa V, stated that the initiative is in response to a call for assistance from the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 and Cholera.
