In a surprise move, Zeria Chakale, a Central Executive Member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has withdrawn his signature from a letter sent to Hon Mphepo, Administrative Secretary of the DPP, dated January 23rd.

In a letter addressed to the party’s president Peter Mutharika, Chakale stated that he was appointed to his position of Vice President Central in a similar manner and did not have time to share this action with the Central Region Committee through the Regional Governor.

Chakale stated that he stands to go by the principles and policies of the party so that they can move together amicably as a team ready to win the coming general elections.

He reiterated his commitment to the party and his willingness to work towards the party’s success.

The withdrawal of Chakale’s signature from the letter is a significant development and raises questions about the party’s unity and readiness for the upcoming elections.

However, it is important to note that Chakale’s decision to withdraw his signature is in line with the party’s principles and policies, and his commitment to work together as a team towards a common goal.

The DPP Administration Secretary, Hon Mphepo, has not yet commented on the development.
