President Lazarus Chakwera held an audience with His Excellency Most Reverend Gianfranco Gallone, the Apostolic Nuncio of Malawi and Zambia, to discuss the consolidation of the cordial working partnership between the government of Malawi and the Roman Catholic Church.
President Chakwera stated his administration’s satisfaction with the significant socioeconomic impact the Roman Catholic Church has had on the country for decades through various interventions in key sectors of human development.
The Church, represented by His Excellency Gallone, pledged to continue collaborating with the government and the people of Malawi to improve livelihoods at the household, community, and national levels.
The meeting between the President and the Apostolic Nuncio was seen as a positive step towards strengthening the relationship between the government and the Roman Catholic Church in Malawi.
