Information reaching this publication indicates that a group of concerned citizens in Malawi were prevented from entering parliament premises to show their discontent over the recent interdiction of Martha Chizuma, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Despite the restriction, the group has vowed to hold demonstrations national wide if the interdiction is not removed.

The group’s leader Bon Kalindo stated that they were in solidarity with members of parliament who were inside the parliament building, discussing the same issues surrounding Chizuma’s case.

Chizuma was interdicted 2 days ago due to her conduct in a leaked audio in which she detailed how efforts to curb corruption in the country were being choked.

More details to come…
