Police in Nsanje remanded seven people including the former China Railway (CR-20) over the allegation of steeling 200 steel bars of 12 meters, each valued at K4 million.

Spokesperson for Nsanje Police, Sub-Inspector, Agnes Zalakoma, has said the suspects committed the alleged offence during the night of Friday, February 10, 2023, at Mbenje camp site.

The suspects have been remanded to Nsanje prison and will answer an offence of breaking into a building and commit a felony there in. They allegedly broke into the company’s storeroom and stole the materials.

The suspects are Daniel Khomelo, 23 years, of Singano village, Isaac Lackson, aged 22, from Kambulukire village, Bishop Kuleti, 29 years, of Tchithi village and Master Master, aged 20, of Kanyama village all from the area of Traditional Authority Ngabu in the district.
