President Lazarus Chakwera is delivering his State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament today, but the event was marred by the display of placards by opposition members.

As the President entered the House, some opposition members held up placards with various messages urging him to take action on important issues affecting the country. Some of the messages were critical of the President’s leadership, while others called for urgent action to address challenges faced by the country.

The messages on the placards read, “Hire the youth not retirees,” “Create jobs not thieving empire,” “Where is the President,” “Malawi has no leadership,” “Malawi lost under Chakwera,” “Malawi is a crime scene,” “We are tired of your words Chakwera,” “We need action,” and “No drugs in hospitals.”
