Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC) has pilled more pressure on government to consider passing the most anticipated Disaster Risk Management bill.

This comes as several calls from various NGOs continue to come for parliament to consider the bill before seating rises next week.

Julius Ng’oma National Coordinator for Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC) said the country is currently using an archaic act of 1991 which only focuses on response which is expensive for the country.

According to Ng’oma the proposed new bill is way to go as it will ready the country in managing the disasters as the country will be preparing as mandated by Disaster Risk management bill.
