A video of a heated exchange between a female student and a substitute teacher at Rocky Mount High School in Nash County, North Carolina has gone viral.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 17th, and was reportedly sparked by the teacher, Xaviera Steel, confiscating the student’s cell phone during class.
In the video, the student can be heard confronting Steel and demanding the return of her phone, stating that she felt singled out and that the phone belonged to her.
The situation quickly escalates, with Steel appearing to strike the student, causing her to fall to the ground.
Why does the rules not apply to everybody else. That’s my phone,” the girl said.
