Former Minister of Homeland Security Uladi Mussa is still not allowed to travel to United States of America despite his pardon.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera released Mussa together with 199 prisoners two weeks ago as part of Easter Celebrations.

Despite his release the US government has said a ban on Mussa is still effective.

“The travel ban against the former minister is still in place,” said US Embassy public affairs officer Namita Biggins.

Mussa was banned in 2019 alongside his wife Cecilia while serving as former president Peter Mutharika’s aide due to “significant corruption.”
