Government has called on the need to review surveying policies in a quest to bring sanity in the sector.

This comes as Surveyors Institute of Malawi (SIM) held its Mid-Year Conference in Lilongwe.

Deus Gumba Minister of Lands said with involvement of private surveyors there are numerous malpractices affecting the professional.

According to Gumba most surveyors are using uncertified equipment a thing which is affecting due diligence of their works on measurements among others.

Meanwhile Precious Chisi Vice President for Surveyors Institute of Malawi SIM said they will work hand in hand with surveyors general to rectify and reviews policies so that there is professionalism in their work.
