An education expert has expressed concerns with a significant number of learners that have failed to sit for the just ended 2023 Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations.
The concern has been raised as reports indicate that over eighty learners have not written the examinations due to the alleged misallocation of examination fees by school authorities.
Benedicto Kondowe Executive Director of the Civil Society Coalition on Quality Basic Education said the development entails that the right to education has been violated.
Kondowe has therefore suggested that going forward the Malawi National Examination Board should be producing a list of candidates that have paid for the examinations to schools so that those that are missing should rectify the anomalies in good time.
