Nkhatabay district council has called on the private sector to invest in the Water transport in an effort to boost the tourism sector.

The call has been made as there is no adequate private sector participation in this sub-sector which has led to slow development over the years.

Rodgers Newa District commissioner for Nkhatabay said the district has created a fertile ground for businesses with an aim of attracting the private sector to invest in the district.

Newa said ensuring that the lake shore district has tourists attraction facilities is one step upwards towards boosting the tourism industry.
