A 40-year-old employee of the Electricity Supply Cooperation of Malawi (ESCOM) named Dean Aaron Chipiko has tragically passed away.
Mponela police spokesperson Macpatson Msadala confirmed the incident, stating that Chipiko, a power linesman, fell off a pole while installing optic fibre cables near Mponela Trade Centre in Dowa District.
Chipiko sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Mponela Rural Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
