Grief and shock have descended upon Chafwamba village, located in the area of Chief Chulu in Kasungu, as the community mourns the loss of a woman and prays for the recovery of an injured child.

Tragically, both victims fell victim to stray elephants earlier today, highlighting the pressing need for effective measures to address human-wildlife conflicts in the region.

According to Group Village Head Chafwamba, the unfortunate incident occurred while the woman was collecting green vegetables in her garden.

Without warning, the elephants attacked, claiming her life on the spot.

The injured child has been swiftly taken to Chulu Health Centre for urgent medical attention.
