The National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has encouraged young people to consider obtaining loans from the bank as a means of improving the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.

The call has been made in light of the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs in expanding their business activities due to unfavorable conditions.

Oswin Kasunda Head of Retail Banking at NBM, has emphasized the bank’s commitment to engage with its customers and the youth in disseminating information that enhances business management skills among young people.

Kasunda added the bank aims to contribute to the national economic development through the promotion and support of SMEs.

Meanwhile, Elias Kanongola Business Information and Advisory Services Manager at the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Institute has expressed commitment to ensure that small business operators have access to reliable and relevant information that facilitates their business activities in the country.
