The Civil Society Advocacy Forum has urged citizens to prioritize knowing their HIV statuses in order to effectively combat the pandemic and eliminate it as a public threat by 2030.

This call comes as the country anticipates a significant positive impact on viral suppression through the implementation of the T=T campaign, which stands for Tizilombo tochepa (ta HIV) = Thanzi (labwino), and encourages people living with HIV and Aids to adhere to medication as one way of fighting the virus.

Chairperson of the forum David Kamkwamba, expressed Malawi’s steady determination to achieve its HIV prevention goals and eradicate HIV and AIDS as a public threat by 2030 by implementing a comprehensive prevention approach.

Kamkwamba added that it is crucial for every citizen to take responsibility and ensure that individuals who are living with HIV are aware of their status.
