President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has departed for China to attend the 2023 China- Africa Economic Trade Expo.
Chakwera left the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe. State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and other government officials escorted the President at KIA.
Speaking before departure Chakwera said: “It is a great honour that we have been invited in this fashion, we will take advantage of this in order for us not only to see what we can sale from Malawi in terms of trade and what economic activities the two nations can accomplish for our benefit, we also want to talk about the debt levels that we have as bilateral agreements that we have and how we can continue in the future visa vis the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program”.
The China Expo gives Malawi an opportunity to showcase Malawian products and exports to China.
Chakwera will return home on July 3, 2023.
