Mulhako wa Alhomwe festivities return this year and the organizing committee has promised people nothing below maximum fun at the annual event.

Speaking to the press after a media tour of the place where the event is held every year, Chonde ground, Chairperson of the organizing committee, Leston Mulli, said that preparations are near complete of the event that will take place from October 26 to its next day.

The chairperson indicated that apart from traditional dances and traditional foods, this year’s event has brought in much beer on the table.

“There are 50 drums of the local gin, Kachasu; three truck loads of Chibuku and 20 drums of another traditional brew, Matanthi,” said Mulli.

It was also disclosed that there will be transports that will ferry people from various districts all over the country to Chonde where the annual festival is celebrated.

Centre administrator for Mulhako wa Alhomwe, Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka said they were expecting 50,000 people to attend the event as everyone is allowed to be part of the celebrations.
