Ward councilors in Thyolo have reportedly sealed the offices of the District Commissioner (DC), Director of Administration, and Transport officer due to issues concerning their allowances.
The closure has been confirmed by the council’s vice chairperson, Hudson Ovira, who did not disclose the specific reasons.
Sources suggest that the closure may be related to the councilors’ demand for allowances to attend the funeral ceremony of late Senior Chief Kapichi.
The DC, Rosemary Nawasha, who is currently attending the funeral, has not yet responded to the situation.
