A total of 39 lawmakers from the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are today scheduled to meet former President Peter Mutharika ta PAGE house in Mangochi.
According to inside sources, the lawmakers are scheduled to endorse Mutharika as the party’s torchbearer in the forthcoming 2025 presidential polls.
Meeting is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon.
The meeting comes amid infighting in the opposition DPP with some challenging the endosrsement of Mutharika by the National Governing Council (NGC) meeting recently.
