Police in Kanengo, Lilongwe have arrested three men for allegedly found in possession of cannabis sativa without license.
Assistant Public Relations Officer for Kanengo Police Station, Constable Linly Mwale has identified the three as Moses Francisco, Victor Columbus and Manuel Lano.
According to Mwale the arrest follows a tip from well wishers who notified the Police that some people are keeping the illicit drug within some parts of the area that prompted officers start carrying out special operation leading to the arrest of the suspects in Area 49.
“during the exercise, Francisco was found with two packets and 36 small cigarettes of cannabis, Columbus was found with a laptop bag containing loose cannabis, 9 small packets and 17 twists while Lano was found with a plastic bag containing loose cannabis” she said.
She added that, the three are expected to appear before court soon to answer charges of being found in possession of cannabis sativa without a license.
Moses Francisco hails from Simalambo Village, Traditional Authority Masula in Lilongwe, Victor Columbus comes from Ganti Village , Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka while Manuel Lano hails from Fulatira Village, Tradional Authority M’bang’ombe, Lilongwe District.
