Police at Jenda have arrested a 49-year-old nurse, Steven Nyalugwe on suspicion that he might be connected into the death of own son, who went missing in June this year, same son villagers believed was magically kept by an elderly woman at Kamangadazi village in the district.
It has been established that Nyalugwe was the last person seen with his son at Embangweni trading centre. In a preliminary investigation it shows there are alot of things which do not add up pertaining to his movements on that particular day.
Nyalugwe who is also a midwife nurse at Embangweni mission hospital, had an affair some time back outside his marriage where they had this son. The son was living with the mother. After the boy went missing all the relatives levelled witchcraft accusations against Maria Nzima saying she was keeping the son in magic.
Police have a proven record that witch craft accusations are always accompanied with deceit motives either jealous or hiding one’s own evil deeds. Investigations are at an advanced stage to bring to justice those involved in the mob.
Police have also impounded a Motor vehicle connected to the commission of a crime.
The father will be taken to court in due course on charges of murder, inciting violence, charging person with witch craft, arson, malicious damage and other charges levelled against him.
Steven Nyalugwe hails from Tombondela Village, Traditional Authority Chapanaga in Chikwawa District.
