Death has been announced of former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President John Zenus Ungapake Tembo.

His son, John Tembo Jnr has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press few minutes ago.

Tembo has died at the age of 91.

He has been in hospital for a week now.
