The family of the late John Tembo expressed their deep hurt over the accusations that plagued the former Leader of the Opposition throughout his life.

These allegations tarnished Tembo’s reputation, suggesting he was involved in various atrocities during the one-party regime in Malawi.

Village headman Mphezi, speaking on behalf of the family at Dedza Stadium prior to his burial, mentioned how these accusations had haunted them.

Despite the pain caused by these allegations, the family extended forgiveness to those who had made the accusations, echoing Tembo’s own teachings on forgiveness.

President Lazarus Chakwera, Vice-President Saulos Chilima, former President Bakili Muluzi, and former Vice-President Khumbo Kachali are attending the funeral ceremony.
