Minister of Information and Digitalisation Moses Kunkuyu and Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale assured Malawians that this year’s affordable Input Program will roll out from 20, October 2023.

Addressing the media in Lilongwe, Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale, said 1.5 million people are going to benefit from this year’s Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP).

According to Kawale the 2023/24, AIP will be launched by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera at Kaluluma EPA in Kasungu North Constituency on Friday 20 October 2023.

Kawale said the price of fertilizer remains K15,000 per bag and people that are going to benefit from AIP are those that have manpower to do farming.

The minister of Agriculture added that 1.4 million people are the ones to benefit through subsidized fertilizer and seeds while 1,000,000 will receive goats.

Last year’s growing season AIP faced network and transportation hiccups which forced some members of Parliament to be using personal resources to transport the farm inputs.
