Malawian hip-hop artist Limbani Kalilani better known by his stage name Tay Grin has confirmed that his song titled Tcha has been considered for the Best African Performance at the GRAMMY AWARDS.
According to a post he wrote on his Official Facebook page Grin announced that his song has been considered, meaning to say if the song passes GRAMMY AWARDS requirements it will be nominated at the Grammy awards.
“It gives me great pleasure & honor to announce that we have been “considered” for the Best African Performance at the GRAMMY AWARDS”. Tay Grin said.
“This is huge for our nation and I humbly ask that we continue promoting the song on all platforms drumming up the needed support and hopefully get a Grammy nomination for Tcha.
“I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the making of this project and I am very hopeful. Let’s go MALAWI”, he added
In 2016, Tay Grin won the WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards Best Traditional Video award, with the Video Chipapapa featuring 2baba. He has also won numerous local awards like the Nyasa Music awards and the Urban Music People (UMP) in categories such as best live act, best video and best Male artist.
