Non-governmental organizations continue to give their opinion on the rise in goods prices in the country following the fall of Kwacha currency announced by the Reserve Bank on Wednesday.
The director of Consumers Association of Malawi (CAMA), John Kapito said that president Lazarus Chakwera and the Tonse alliance government have failed to lift Malawians out of poverty, so he should just resign as he said during campaign that “he would fail to help Malawians in two year term should resign,”.
The director of Center for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR), Michael Kaiyatsa, said that government should hold a meeting as soon as possible to discuss ways that will help Malawians live in this period where prices of goods continue to rise.
Among other things, he said that the salaries of civil servants should be increased and trips made by government officials to abroad and even around in this country should be reduced.
