Cyclone Freddy Goodwill Ambassadors, former Presidents Joyce Banda and Bakili Muluzi, on Friday, handed over 10 houses to some of the Cyclone Freddy survivors in Mulanje.

The houses have been constructed at Ntambalika Village in the area of Traditional Authority Njema in the district.

Banda said she is pleased with how phase one of the construction of the houses has been administered in the area.

On the other hand, Muluzi said they are committed to building more houses in the country, saying from January 2024, they expect to receive funding from other well-wishers to construct 1,000 houses.

On his part, Minister of Lands, Deus Gumba, said he is satisfied with the quality of the houses, adding that government is committed to working with the ambassadors who have volunteered to support people in the country.
