The head coach of Silver Strikers, Pieter De Jong, has once again criticized the team’s board as the reason why the team did not manage to clinch this years TNM Super league title.

De Jong said this yesterday at a press conference in Lilongwe where he was giving his team updates in preparation against Kamuzu Barracks in TNM super league today at Bingu National Stadium.

Silver striker’s gaffer said, among other things, the board allowed Football Association of Malawi to take some players to join the Flames team camp in preparation for the COSAFA tournament in August, but overall, this tournament is not on the FIFA calendar.

Another reason, according to De Jong, is the absence of Chimwemwe Idana for a few games because the board was very slow instead of acting quickly on his transfer.

De Jong also said that the board failed to buy seven additional players for the team to be strong.

The Dutchman signed a two-year contact with Silver and he was given targets to win the TNM super league and one domestic cup.
