The Department of Meteorology and Climate Change has warned Malawians to expect heavy rain from Wednesday 29 November 2023 to Sunday 3 December 2023.
Through the statement released by the department last night, it has said that in many areas people should expect cloudy, windy and thundery weather.
“We should expect heavy rain from Wednesday 29 November to Sunday 3 December 2023, and in some areas it will be cloudy and windy and thunderstorms. The sun will be very hot in the southern region and thunderstorms will fall in few areas in the on 27 November and 28 November 2023,” reads part of the statement.
The department has advised people living in the southern region to avoid staying in the sun for a long time, to drink enough water and that rain for planting will fall this week, so farmers should get a forecast of how the rain will fall from the department.
