Super League of Malawi President, Fleetwood Haiya, has announced that the annual subvention money for clubs in the TNM Super League will be increased from K10 million to K20 million starting next season.
Speaking after the match between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers, which was the last game of the season, Haiya said this year’s league was well organized and very competitive.
“First of all, we thank God that everything has gone well so far, some doubted about Revive Rebrand and Reform, but it has been successful and this year’s league was very competitive compared to previous years in which the league was decided before several games left to play but this year the winner was known on the last day.
“Starting from next season the annual subvention money will be increased from K10 million to K20 Million and this will help the teams to minimize some of the financial challenges which they face,” said Haiya.
Meanwhile the general secretary of the Ekwendeni Hammers, Benjamin Thole, has welcomed the development saying this is major milestone to the development of the elite league.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have emerged winners of this years TNM Super League after accumulating 60 points.
