Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has said that they are still not satisfied with the decision of FAM appeals committee and are therefore appealing again to Football Association Competitions Committee.

The development has come after FAM competitions Committee rejected Wanderers’ complaint following the determination that the Committee made on 28 September 2023.

According to a press release signed by Wanderers Chief Executive Officer, Roosevelt Mpinganjira, the Board has resolved to appeal and have the game against Silver Strikers postponed until the matter is held and resolved.

“The Board observed that the determination was not made in the spirit of fair play having noted that the cause of the matter is the bad decision by the referee.

“The board is dismayed with the fact that both FAM’s Competitions and FAM’s Disciplinary Committees do not take cognisance that the referee is the root cause of the challenges at hand,” reads part of the statement.

The second leg Match is scheduled to be played tomorrow, 6 December 2023, at Kamuzu Stadium.

Wanderers were initially found guilty of three offenses, including causing abandonment of a match, failure to control their supporters, and bringing the game of football into disrepute.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM), through its Competitions Committee, ordered Mighty Mukuru wanderers to pay K 24million, following abandonment of Airtel top 8 match between the team and Silver on 23 September 2023.
