Blue Eagles through its chairman, Alexander Simenti, have lodged a complaint to Sulom against the decision to relegate them from the TNM Super League based on head-to-head after tying on everything with Moyale Barracks FC.

The development has come after the area 30 based team was relegated from the country’s Elite league after a 2-1 loss to MAFCO on Sunday at Nankhaka Stadium.

According to the club’s general secretary Benjamin Msowoya, head-to-head is not recognised as a tie breaker in the top-flight league’s rules.

Eagles have also lodged a complaint on their suspicion of match-fixing in the match involving Malawi Defense Force (MDF) teams Moyale and Red Lions which the former won 7-0 at Mzuzu Stadium to survive relegation.

Meanwhile Sulom general secretary Williams Banda has said that they respect Eagles’ opinion but Rules of the league should be adhered to religiously.

Blue Eagles went into the last game of the season at number nine but lost 2-1 to MAFCO while Moyale Barracks defeated Red Lions 7-0 and many football fans are suspecting that there was match fixing since both teams are from MDF and considering the fact that Red lions was already relegated.
