Grezelder Jeffrey, who was fired yesterday as Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary-General, has announced the start of a campaign for those aspiring to compete in the upcoming party elections.

Jeffrey, speaking to the media in Lilongwe, has asked those aspiring to contest within the party to come forward and submit their candidature forms to show their interest.

Jeffrey mentioned that those aspiring to different positions in the party need to pay a non-refundable fee of K1 million for the presidential candidate, K500,000 for the director’s position, and K300,000 for those running for the position of director.

In his words, DPP’s Spokesperson, Nicholas Dausi, said the campaign season has officially started, and all candidates should begin their campaigns.

DPP is expected to hold a convention on December 15 and 16 at the Natural Resources College (NRC) in Lilongwe, and new officials shall be also elected on the same event
