Police have reported that after the violent riots in Mangochi yesterday in what has been termed as the Mangochi pork-gate scandal following the footsteps of the cashgate scandal, there have been various damage to both property and individuals.

According to the police in the Muslim dominated district, the riots in the district yesterday saw the ransacking of Mangochi PTC and the METRO shop in the area. It has also been reported that 9 cars had their windscreens destroyed by the rioting mob.

Money close to MK 700,000 was also lost as it was apparently stolen by the rioters. The money belonged to Affordable wholesale. So far, three arrests have been made and the Police claim to have instituted a manhunt for a radical just identified as Savimbi who is believed to be the ring-leader.
