The Enlightened Christian Gathering of the Jesus Nation Church (ECG) says expectations are high ahead of this year’s crossover prayers scheduled for December 31 at AHL Holdings Hall in Lilongwe.
Aubrey Kusakala, who is the spokesperson for Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, said as per tradition, they are expecting a lot of people from both Malawi and outside the country to attend the prayers this year.
“We will have a lot of visitors from outside the country. People are flying in, and others are using the road to be part of this event. Air Malawi has doubled the limit of their flights between South Africa and Malawi because we have a lot of people coming from Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa,” he said.
Kusakala said in their quest to reach out to as many people as possible, they will also make the prayers accessible through other online platforms such as YouTube and Facebook so that access is not just limited to those people present at the AHL Auditorium.
The ECG will hold the 13th edition of the crossover prayers under the theme The Night of Wealth Transfer to be presided over by Bushiri.
Kusakala said people should expect a lot to happen as regards their spiritual life in line with the theme of the prayers.
He said: “Wealth is important to the children of god. Most people have misconceptions as regards prosperity, as most believe that Christians should be poor.
“It is not like that. We have a lot of examples of people in the bible who were so wealthy, and they followed God faithfully, ministered, and did a lot of as regards Christianity. This is what we are preaching.”
The church says the crossover prayers are open to everyone regardless of their religious affiliation, denomination, or doctrines. They say everyone who feels like is welcome to attend.
