First Grade Magistrate court sitting in Thyolo has convicted and sentenced a 74 year-old man to spend 5 years imprisonment for defiling 14 year-old girl in the district.

The convict has been identified as Jarton Gadamika who committed the offense on 26 December 2023.

In his ruling, First Grade Magistrate Kondani Chinangwa ordered Gadamika to serve a five-year jail term for defilement and he asked for leniency.
