Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) has announced that the guest of honor at this year’s Malawi Sport Awards is the country’s leader, Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
The Council’s chairperson, Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise, said this today at a press conference in Blantyre.
According to Madise, the nomination process for the fourth edition is underway as the council has appointed a special committee of journalists to select athletes that have done well in 2023.
The 2023 Malawi Sports Awards will take place on 16 February, 2024 at the Bingu International Conventional Center in Lilongwe.
However, the winners in each of the 17 competing categories will cart home K750, 000 while the second and third place will receive K150, 000 each.
Malawi Sports Awards was established by the Malawi government in 2017 to recognizing outstanding athletes, sports administrators and institutions that have contributed to sports development.
