Police in Lilongwe have arrested seven men for allegedly stealing 46 motorcycles and 84 bags of secondhand clothes all valued at K155 Million from a Chinese National.
According to Lilongwe Police spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu, they have managed to recover 12 bicycles that were stolen from the warehouse.
Chigalu said that the suspects conspired with security guards at the premises and broke into the warehouse where they stole the items.
The suspects are Davie Livalo aged 34, Paul Mkambeni 36, Aaron Jere 29, Chifundo Makele 29, Ken Mbewe 29, Tamandani Matope 27, Chifuniro Makele 29 and Chifundo Phiri aged 25.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for a lead suspect identified as Nana who is on a run.
