Former Flames goalkeeper Charles Swini’s funeral ceremony is currently underway in Lilongwe.
He succumbed to kidney failure on Tuesday morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.
Notable figures such as Football Association of Malawi Vice President Christopher Kuyera, Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, former Flames International Young Chimodzi, and Peterkins Kaira are in attendance.
The ceremony in Area 51 is marked by somber songs, weeping, and downcast faces as hundreds pay their last respects.
He will be be laid to rest in Nkhotakota, his home district
