Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has cancelled his address scheduled for today at PAGE house in Mangochi.
DPP National Publicity Secretary Shadreck Namalomba has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.
However, Namalomba has not stated reasons for the cancellation of the address.
On Saturday DPP supporters were attacked by thugs suspected to youths of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) at Mbowe Filing Station in Lilongwe as they were about to hold a blue parade.
The fracas attracted verbal war from two camps.
