Mponela Police spokesperson Macpatson Msadala said the incident occurred at Mponela Trading Centre behind Mponela 1 Primary School on February 28 this year.
Medical examination confirmed that indeed the girl was defiled, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
It is reported that the victim’s mother noted that her daughter had some problems when walking.
“Upon being properly asked, the victim narrated the whole story to her mother that a certain man grabbed her and took her behind Mponela 1 Primary School and had carnal knowledge with her,” explains Msadala.
The suspect is expected to appear before court soon to answer a defilement charge.
