Amidst a cry of indiscipline amongst University students by the public, the University of Malawi’s Chancellor College has decided to use a heavy hand in dealing with their students whom it finds on the wrong side of the law.

Reports reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that the College has suspended eleven students over demonstrations they held last week as a matter of forcing government to release to them stationery allowance.

Amongst the eleven students indefinitely suspended include the President of the students’ union, Israel Masiyano.

The administration is said to have said that the suspension was with immediate effect and that the hearing would come in at a later stage.

There have been some quarters of the students’ body who have threatened to go back to the streets unless the College administration rescinds its decision on suspending the eleven.
