About 4,000 youths have petitioned President Lazarus Chakwera to intervene in logistical hiccups delaying their departure for an Israel labour export deal.

The youths presented their petition to the Lilongwe District Commissioner’s office, expressing their concerns over the delays.

Tapson Maganga, chairperson of the concerned Israel trip applicants, highlighted their engagement with Parliament and relevant ministries, yielding no resolution.

Maganga alleges that selfish leaders are intentionally delaying their departure despite clearance from Recruitment Agencies and employers in Israel.

Most applicants borrowed substantial sums for passport processing, medical reports, and police clearance, adding to their frustration.

The Lilongwe District Commissioner, Dr. Lawford Palani, received the petition and assured its delivery to the Office of the President and Cabinet for action.

The youths await President Chakwera’s intervention to resolve the logistical challenges hindering their participation in the Israel labour export deal.
