Police in Mzuzu have arrested Henry Kachali 17, and Luka Ching’oka 42 on suspicion of burglary and theft which occurred at Lupaso and Chibavi within Mzuzu city respectively.
According to Mzuzu Police Station Assistant Public Relations Officer Constable Rose Chipyola, Mzuzu police recently has been receiving reports of different criminalities including burglary and theft.
Chipyola said that it is for this reason that detectives conducted an intelligence driven patrol which led to the arrest of Kachali and Ching’oka who are suspected to have been behind the crimes.
The two are suspected to have stolen plasma television screens and other household accessories worth millions of kwacha.
Meanwhile all the stolen items have been recovered and the suspects are in police custody for further police investigations.
Henry Kachali hails from Manyamula village Traditional Authority M’mbelwa in Mzimba while Luke Ching’oka is from Chiwamba village Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota District.
