Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes, a Brazilian woman, was arrested after wheeling her dead uncle into a bank in Rio de Janeiro in an attempt to secure a loan in his name.
Caught on video, the eerie scene shows Erika trying to force her deceased uncle’s limp hand to sign paperwork while speaking to him as if he were alive.
Despite her efforts, bank employees were suspicious and alerted the authorities.
The victim, identified as Paulo Roberto Braga, had been dead for hours before the incident.
Erika faces potential charges including theft through fraud, embezzlement, and abuse of a corpse, while police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and potential involvement of other family members.
