Consumers in Malawi are still struggling to purchase one packet of sugar which has become so rarely to have like gold dust.
Today on Thursday 18 April 2024, large number of consumers in Lilongwe were queuing to buy sugar at Lilongwe Shoprite.
As it has become the norm these days, each person was only allowed to buy one packet at k1,999.
To beat the system, some customers, after buying their 1Kg, had to engage others to enable them to buy more than two packets.
Currently, vendors are selling one packet of sugar at k,3000
