Stakeholders in Blantyre has commended the effort done by Police in curbing the criminal activities that were happening by street-connected children.
This comes after individuals from the Malawian Asian community have assisted some street connected youth to go back to school and others assisted with money to start small businesses
In an interview with the MUBAS student President Gershom Nyirenda and founder of hope for children Trust Innocent Tengeza said the criminal activities were rampant in the cities and deployment of police officers in targeted operations have assisted in curbing the crimes done by the street connected children.
However, the commissioner of Police for the South West Region, Noel Kayira said that they will make sure that Blantyre is the safest city in Malawi and the SADC region
