Peoples Development Party (PDP) interim President Kondwani Nankhumwa has resigned from the post of Leader of opposition (LoP) in Parliament.

Nankhumwa announced this during a media briefing currently underway at Golden Peacock hotel in the commercial capital Blantyre.

In his speech Nankhumwa said that he has since instructed his lawyers to withdraw all legal battles surrounding the post of leader of opposition.

He has since congratulated the incoming leader of opposition who is scheduled to be appointed by the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Nankhumwa said he is ready to support him if need be.
