Construction Sector Transparency (CoST Malawi) has launched public infrastructure project dashboard that provides platform for updating progress of all project funded by tax payers and donors.

Minister of Information and Digitalization, Moses Kunkuyu, during the launch in Lilongwe said this is in line with the access to information policy, saying it will give Malawians a countrywide view of progress of infrastructure transformation.

CoST Malawi Chairperson, Joe Ching’ani, said with laws like Access to Information and the PPDA, public information, saying the dashboard helps to simplify information on the already existing portal called Information Portal for Public Information (IPPI) that records project information. He adds that it provides a chance for watchdogs to raise any issues they note in the provided information.

National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) Chief Executive Officer, Gerald Khonje, whose onstitution hosts the CoST secretariat, said the intent is to ensure transparency on how projects are being conceptualized, procured, implemented and delivered, saying over 700 projects have been recorded on the platform.
